      Humidification Systems

Besides the utilization of heating and air conditioning systems to bring us indoor comfort year round, there is mounting concern regarding the quality of the air that we breathe within our homes to maintain health and well-being. Whether you live in a historic New England Colonial or in a contemporary 4-level split, there are always areas of improvement present. Aprilaire Logo
Berry Mechanical offers the Aprilaire humidifier to add comfort to your home. It is not the heat or cold – it is the humidity that affects our comfort. What the ideal humidity level is between 30-60 percent. Too low humidity induces chronic symptoms like sore throat, dry skin, and bloody noses. Also it impacts causes furniture and wood flooring to crack. You also feel colder when it is dry. Too much humidity makes you feel clammy and sticky. Allergens thrive at a higher humidity level. It causes warping in wood, peeling of paints, and mildew.
        • Modern electronically controlled whole-house humidifiers can add much needed humidity to forced hot air systems with ductwork.
        • A stand-alone humidifier is available for homes with forced hot water or ductless units.
        • Whole house humidifiers require an inside drain and a hot or cold supply nearby in order to successfully install.

Please contact a Berry Mechanical Design Consultant to see how easy it can be to install an Aprilaire whole house humidifier in your home and feel more comfortable this winter.

        Fresh Air Ventilation Systems

Besides the utilization of heating and air conditioning systems to bring us indoor comfort year round, there is mounting concern regarding the quality of the air that we breathe within our homes to maintain health and well-being. Whether you live in a historic New England Colonial or in a contemporary 4-level split, there are always areas of improvement present. Here we'll focus on fresh air ventilation that can be incorporation into an existing ductwork system or installed as a stand-alone.
        • As home improvements make doors, windows, ceilings, and walls more energy efficient and more air tight, the indoor air that we breathe becomes contaminated with chemicals and carbon dioxide.
        • Fresh air ventilation systems called ERVs or Energy Recovery Ventilators can be installed onto your existing home heating and air conditioning system or can be installed as a stand-alone system.
        • They work by removing stale contaminated indoor air and replacing it with fresh, filtered outdoor air that has been cooled or heated. This in effect dilutes the contaminants inside your home making for a healthier breathing environment.
        • As the stale indoor air is vented to the outside and fresh outdoor is vented into your home, the ERV will exchange indoor air temperatures into the unconditioned outdoor air. This saves on energy costs and improves the overall comfort of the incoming air.
        • You do not need existing ductwork in your home in order to successfully install and ERV.
        • ERVs come in many different sizes to handle many different home sizes and styles.
Choosing the Right Size Energy Recovery Ventilator for your square footage:

        • Up to 2700 Sq. Ft. - TR130
